Volunteer in Studentersamfundet

Considering becoming a volunteer in Studentersamfundet? Read on! Studentersamfundet is an organization for all students at Aalborg University. It doesn’t matter if you’re interested in student politics, want to help out at one of our events, or have an entrepreneurial spirit. As an organization, we embrace a wide range of interests and are always open to new ideas for events or initiatives that can benefit the study environment at Aalborg University.

With us, there is no minimum number of shifts you need to take to be involved, so come when you have the time and desire—we're always happy to see you!

What can I do as a volunteer?

Groups/Committees
Studentersamfundet consists of various groups and committees, each working on different aspects within the organization. If you're interested in creating exciting events or parties, the Study Start Party Committee or the Party Committee might be for you. If you have a technical background, you might find the Sound and Lighting team, AAULan, or the IT Committee appealing. Politically, there are the Election Committee, National Committee, and International Forum. If you’re more into communication and PR, there’s also the opportunity to work in the Communications Committee.

Bars

You have probably already visited one of our 5 Friday bars or Thursday bar, but did you know that you can also volunteer here? All the bars are run by volunteers who dedicate their time and effort to ensure that you can enjoy a cold drink with your fellow students every Friday or Thursday. As a volunteer in one of the bars, you can take on a variety of roles, including chairperson, treasurer, PR manager, buyer, etc. Additionally, you can also be a bartender. The 6 bars are spread across the entire campus, and you can choose where you would like to volunteer.

Student Politics
One of the main objectives of Studentersamfundet is to strengthen the study environment across the university. We do this by providing you, the students, with the best opportunities to influence student politics. This occurs both locally within your program, among elected student representatives whom we train and support, and centrally, where we hold the Student Forum on the first Monday of each month. Here, you can learn more about what is happening at Aalborg University and how you can actively contribute to improving the study environment.

Local Study Associations
The Local Study Associations in Studentersamfundet work to improve and strengthen the study environment in their specific faculty or program. They focus on both student political aspects and organize exciting study-related events. These can range from socially engaging activities to talks and lectures by individuals who are relevant to your field of study. If you're unsure whether there is a Local Study Association for your program or faculty, or if you're interested in learning more about how you can help start one, then sign up as a volunteer at the top of the page!
